Communities Made SimpleOne Connection at a TimeYou wouldn't expect to construct a shopping mall all in one go would you? Why do you expect a long-term business to? Think about it. In construction you build in stages:
"Rome wasn't built in a day." Don't expect to magically have an engaging community in a day either.
In most cases, not even in a year. You need to think about the LOOOOOONG game here. The first step to creating a business that'll last is to stop focusing on the day-to-day metrics. Don't worry about the short term results. Stick it out and keep an eye on the long term view. Now, no I'm not saying that you can't set short term goals. Short term goals are important to keep yourself grounded in your process. Making sure you stick to the day-to-day efforts. That is where you will see the difference. "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." And while that is true, it's the continued action of taking steps that gets you to the destination. You don't have the power to teleport. There are no shortcuts. It's the process of continued action that gets you there. Get out there and build that community. Don't worry about your follower count. Focus on creating those relationships. The rest will follow. New here or missed my last email?
